- Yes, the page looks nicer, but why would you want to know everything you (or someone else) have done over the last (whatever) years of your life.
- There is a record of EVERY SINGLE THING, every interaction, every like, every movement I’ve made, all for public viewing.
- Why? If I was into stalking, this would suit me perfectly.
- But why would I stalk? And for that matter, who would I stalk?
- Probably my crush from the school of civil engineering.
- Christ, that was a dark thought.
- Cute puppies.
- Seriously, why would I scour up my, or anyone else’s past like this? Life is made for living. Is there any need to constantly keep looking back? Does anyone gets nostalgia from their past Facebook life? I don't. My Facebook past is merely pathetic if not empty but it doesn’t do me any damage. Some people can’t deal with this much remembering, though. It can devastate them.
- Like my ex who is still insane and totally irrelevant, but keeps apologizing for whatever happened a year ago. I can't take that ball of bipolarity anymore. But I'm not resentful. I wish someone would take that grenade for the rest of us. Someday.
- Anywho, now we’re back and forth in a freaking time machine. The pretty little red thing jumping us a tiny step forward into our new life and the timeline taking us a million step backwards. And why do we care about going back? It’s just a Facebook profile. It’s not real. Why can’t there be an honest representation of who we are online that we can control? Why does it have to be in the hands of this shady corporation? I mean, sure, there are personal blogs and all but they are all altered in some way or another. Like pictures.
- Truth is, I like the look of the new Facebook, but for me the timeline is just a useless piece of junk. If I would like to know anyone’s past, it would be the person I'm dating. But I don’t do stalking (that much). I actually unsubscribe to my date’s feeds. Like the last one. I know pretty much nothing about their Facebook life. It might be true. It might be a lie. No one really knows.
- Plus, keeping out of your lovers profile saves you a lot of drama. (Wow, I never thought of all the drama it will cause for those possessive couples.)
- I like to know from them personally (words, touch, sight, heartbeats) what they truly like.
- The music they love listening.
- The places they have visited.
- The food, colors, smells, details. Everything they like.
- If it’s not the person I like, then, no thanks. I have no interest in your past life.
- Best friends perhaps. But I already know a lot of their likes and dislikes. A lot of secrets.
- The don’t share secrets on Facebook. Duh.
- But go ahead and stalk. Now everyone will know that minor detail of everyone. Forever. I might as well don’t care.
- Not that I ever cared.
- It’s just a social network. Not my personal diary.
Love,
Klemente.
Klemente.
